To evaluate my H5P interactive video created last week, I would like to use the SAMR model to evaluate it. Based on the SAMR spectrum, I think my H5P video falls under the category of “substitution”. In this model,  technology acts as a direct substitute, with no functional change. Compare with my PowerPoint, my H5P video has the same function and structure.  Because it was my first try at creating the H5P video, I did not jump out of the way to creating PowerPoint. They both have the same steps. Firstly, giving definitions to students helps students understand the content better. Secondly, I asked a related question with my theme. In my H5P interactive video, I put several questions as interactions. Then my video gives hints firstly, then gives the right answer. At the end of the video, I put the key points to make a conclusion. Even though there are many areas that need to improve in my video, compare with PowerPoint, I think H5P interactive video can bring students a more intuitive understanding. I believe I could improve my skills, then I will create higher quality H5P interactive video in the future works.
